Quick, Precise, and Effective Treatment
iLASIK Houston
In the more than 15 years that LASIK surgery has been performed, it has safely and effectively improved the vision of more than 32 million people. Dr. Watkins is a leading provider of LASIK in the Houston area and was among one of the first surgeons in our region to begin performing LASIK procedures when the technology was first introduced.
The latest innovation in LASIK is the iLASIK procedure. Performed at our Houston practice, it's safe, fast and virtually painless. Watkins Eye Center's iLASIK patients receive Advanced CustomVue treatment, an individualized two-step laser vision correction procedure that combines the WaveScan WaveFrontTM System and the VISX STAR S4 IRTM Excimer Laser with Iris Registration. This process enables a doctor to measure unique imperfections in a person's vision and design an individualized treatment. Iris registration technology increases accuracy and precision by centering the treatment correctly, regardless of changes in the pupil center from measurement to treatment.
Dr. Watkins and his staff are skilled professionals who can answer any question you may have before the procedure and will provide top-notch care and support during the process.
In answer to patients' most common questions:
- You are awake during the iLASIK procedure, but you may be given medication to relax
- Your eyes will be numbed with drops, and aside from a little pressure, you most likely won't feel a thing during the procedure
- Typically both eyes are treated during the same visit
- The iLASIK procedure generally takes less than 10 minutes per eye
Learn More about iLASIK Surgery
We are vocal proponents of the iLASIK procedure at our Houston practice, as we feel it provides unparalleled precision and safety. If you suffer from vision impairment and are looking for an alternative to corrective lenses, laser vision correction may be for you. By treating the source of vision complications - irregularities in the corneal and lens tissue - rather than the symptoms, laser vision correction provides long-term benefits that traditional eye glasses simply cannot.
